Game based learning is an engaging type of training combining knowledge and skills training with motivational elements of play. But while social interactions can strongly and positively impact learning as well as motivation, these are difficult to facilitate within digital learning environments.

A collaboration between our research team, students, and industry partners has been developing best practices on how to leverage the affordances of combining digital and physical spaces to take advantage of each, and how to integrate both synchronous and asynchronous learning and teaching methods into a playful experience. We are excited to discuss our findings with you!
